GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali police and community leaders in Mogadishu’s Yaqshiid district have agreed to intensify cooperation in tackling crime and sharing intelligence, in a bid to boost security in the Banadir region.

This was discussed Saturday during a meeting attended by Banadir regional officials, senior police officers and local residents, which was part of a wider programme ordered by Somali Police Force Commander Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi to strengthen ties with communities.

“We have launched initiatives across Banadir’s districts to reinforce trust and coordination between residents and police,” police spokesperson Abdifitah Aden said.

Yaqshiid District Commissioner Suleyman Mahmoud (Fargax) called on residents to work closely with security forces and report any threats to public safety, saying community cooperation is vital to maintaining peace.
