GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre and a delegation led by him will today leave for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for an official visit.

The Premier is expected to hold meetings with his Ethiopian counterpart, Abiy Ahmed, the President of the Somali Regional Government, Mustafe Muhammed Cagjar, and other officials, where they will discuss issues related to the Horn of Africa countries.

He is also scheduled to meet with the Somali diaspora in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, and Jigjiga, the capital of Western Somalia.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes two weeks after the Somali President’s visit to Ethiopia at the invitation of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed. The two countries are currently reviving relations after Ethiopia was seen to be concerned about growing Egyptian influence in Somalia.
