Somali president back to Mogadishu
The president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud leading delegates has on Sunday returned to Mogadishu after he attended the 69th United Nations general assembly in New York.
President Hassan was received at the airport by the speaker of the federal parliament, the prime minister of the federal government, ministers, MPs and senior officials of Banadir administration.
Speaking to the local media after he returned, president Hassan said that he took special meeting with various leaders from the world who agreed to help the government of Somalia in the areas of rebuilding and security.
Somali president has addressed the United Nations general assembly on Friday, he highlighted key issues including governance structures, public finance management, strengthening Somalia’s relationship with neibouring countries and the fight against Al-shabab.
He said his government seized over 70% of the areas in South and Central Somalia from the control of Al-shabab through offensive military operations.
