Somali president calls on African leaders to jointly fight terrorism in the continent
Somali president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has urged African leaders to find lasting solutions to combat threats of terrorism in the continent to achieve Pan-African development agenda.
Speaking at the opening of the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI), President Mohamud said the leaders should resolve challenges facing the continent to get Pan-Africa goals and create unity bonds within the member countries.
“African continent has stepped on the developmental road-map, if the continent use its natural resources in good way, surely the standard living of its people will improve significantly,” said Mohamud.
He urged the leaders at the conference to implement and allow the free movement of people, goods and investments to fulfill the goals.
“The continent should remove tariffs and non-tariff barriers to trade and a continued growth towards ultimate integration,” he requested.
The summit focuses on promoting structural economic transformation through diversification and industrialisation, promoting resilient health system for quality life and promoting social stability for shared prosperity.
