Somali President due to visit Baidoa

Reports from Baidoa, the headquarters of Bay region indicate that thorough Preparations to welcome the president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is going on in the town.

President Hassan leading large delegates of ministers and members of parliament is expected to visit Baidoa on Tuesday and open the conference on the formation South West Somalia- three regions.

The security of Baidoa was tightened by government forces and African Union peace-keeping troops who were positioned the important areas of the town including the airport and the major streets.

The speaker of federal parliament Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari who has been in Baidoa the last two days has taken meetings with the elders and the technical committee facilitating the formation of the regional state comprising of three regions-Bay, Bakol and Lower Shabelle region.

On the other hand, the leader of South West Somalia-six regions Madobe Nunow Mohamed has severally streesed that he will not change his stand and decision of forming an administration comprising of six regions.
