President Mohamud Heads to New York For UN General Assembly

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud left Mogadishu on Saturday for New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The annual gathering brings together world leaders to discuss global challenges ranging from security and climate change to sustainable development.

President Mohamud is expected to highlight Somalia’s progress on security, governance and economic reforms, as well as call for stronger international support for the country’s state-building efforts.
