Somali President to attend inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari
High delegation led by the president of federal government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reached Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria on Thursday.
The president and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the airport by some of the leaders of federal republic of Nigeria and were escorted to Nigeria’s guest house.
Hassan accompanied by Somali deputy foreign minister will attend the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari who will be sworn in as Nigeria’s next president on Friday.
While in Nigeria, President Hassan is expected to take meeting with several state leaders, who are from different parts of the world, about Somalia’s affairs.
This will be the first official visit President Hassan pays to Nigeria since he came to the office in 2012.
It was on 31 Mar 2015 when 72-year-old former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari, has swept to victory in the country’s presidential election, a political earthquake that inflicted the first defeat on former president Jonathan Goodluck in the history of Africa’s biggest democracy.
