Somali president urges South-west state to speed up assembly formation
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed who visited Baidoa town on Thursday has urged the traditional elders and the leaders of South-West state to speed up the completion of the departments of the regional state.
“The administration and the elders of South-West state have done a lot but we have to know that time is pressurizing therefore you have to speed up the formation the regional assembly of south-west so that the administration can proceed to extend to its rule and form district and sub-district level administration” he said.
Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has paid sudden visit to Baidoa town of Bay region on Thursday.
The president held lengthy talks with the leaders of elders of the Baidoa administration.
Presidential security guards, AMISOM military and the government forces were deployed into the town’s centre early morning on Thursday and most of the town’s business places were closed due to the president’s visit.
The access of the people and the vehicles were also blocked.
