President Mohamud Visits Wounded Soldiers, Vows Continued Support

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday visited injured soldiers receiving treatment at De Martino Hospital in Mogadishu, reaffirming the government’s commitment to those wounded in the fight against the al-Shabaab militant group.

Touring the wards and speaking directly with each wounded serviceman, President Mohamud praised the troops for their courage and sacrifice on the frontlines, describing them as heroes in the country’s struggle for peace and sovereignty.

“You are the defenders of our people, our faith, and our nation,” Mohamud told the soldiers. “You have earned a place of honor in Somali history, and your government will stand by you, now and always.”

The President also received a briefing from hospital administrators on current services, challenges in care delivery, and upcoming plans to strengthen medical support for the military and civilian patients.

Accompanying him during the visit were Ali Shacbaan Ibrahim, First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House, and Yusuf Ahmed Hagar, Deputy President of Hirshabelle State.
