Somali Prime Minister arrives in Tunisia ahead of the TICAD 8 Summit

GOOBJOOG NEWS|TUNIS: The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre and a delegation led by him arrived in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia last night.

They were warmly received by the Tunisian Minister of Defense, Imed Memmich and other officials, ahead of the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development Summit which will kick off from August 27-28.

The Tokyo International Conference on Development (TICAD), commonly known as the Japan-Africa Forum is Asia’s leading investor in African peace and security with an annual portfolio of over $350 million.

Nearly 50 African leaders are expected to attend the event, along with over 200 African civil society and NGO representatives. 

This year’s dialogue will focus on attaining sustainable and inclusive growth, human security, and enhancing African capacity for long-term peace and stability.
