Somali regional leaders meeting kicks off today in Kismayo after yesterday’s delay

Somalia regional leaders meeting is expected today to officially open in Kismayo the headquarter of Jubbaland state after yesterdays delay.

The meeting was expected to open on Monday but it was postponed due to technical difficulties, it was confirmed that the conference will open today.

All the heads of state in Somalia have all arrived in Kismayo yesterday for their second time to hold the regional state meeting in Kismayo since 2017.

The UN Special Representative for Somalia Micheal Keating has also arrived in Kismayo for two days visit and had a meeting with the heads of the state last night.

The security of the town has been tightened, with many roads in the town were blocked for the meeting.
