Somali Security Forces Eliminate 41 Al-Shabaab Militants in Precision Airstrikes

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali Security Forces, in a coordinated operation on Thursday, launched precise airstrikes in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions, eliminating 41 Al-Shabaab fighters, including high-ranking militant leaders.
The strikes targeted key Al-Shabaab strongholds in Boos-Hareeri and Jambaluul, areas where the group has been orchestrating attacks against civilians and security forces.
According to military officials, the operation was meticulously planned and executed based on intelligence reports confirming the presence of senior Al-Shabaab figures in the targeted locations.
“The Somali National Army, in collaboration with NISA, has successfully neutralized 41 Al-Shabaab militants, including several top leaders, through precise airstrikes. This operation is part of our continuous efforts to eradicate terrorism and restore peace and stability to our nation,” said an SNA spokesperson.
Boos-Hareeri and Jambaluul have long served as strategic hubs for Al-Shabaab, enabling the group to launch attacks on government forces and civilians. The successful strikes are expected to significantly disrupt their operations and diminish their capacity to carry out further assaults.
The Somali government reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring national security.
“We will not rest until every last extremist is removed from our soil. The Somali people deserve to live in peace, and we will take all necessary measures to achieve that goal,” stated a senior government official.
While the operation marks a significant victory for the Somali National Army and its allies, officials caution that the fight against extremism is ongoing. They urge continued vigilance and support from the international community to sustain efforts against Al-Shabaab.
As Somalia intensifies its counterterrorism campaign, the success in Boos-Hareeri and Jambaluul underscores the resilience and determination of the Somali people and their armed forces in the battle against extremism.
