Somali Security Forces Thwart Al-Shabaab Attack in Bal’ad Town

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: Somali security forces Saturday thwarted an attempted attack by Al-Shabaab militants on army checkpoints at Bal’ad in Middle Shabelle region.

Sources say the militants raided the checkpoint and detonated explosives before engaging in a fierce gun battle with security forces before they were repulsed.

So far, no official report on casualties has been released as security forces are currently conducting operations in the neighborhood.
