Somali senate house signs contract with Max Planck foundation
The Somali senate council leader today signed a contract with Max Planck foundation; a global German organization specialized in international peace and the rule of law for providing capacity building for the senate.
Sources privy to the agreement said the contract touched on legal advice, constitutional affairs, work cooperation between the senate and other governmental department, training of the senate staff among others.
The contract was signed by the Speaker of senate house Abdi Hashi Abdullahi while Max Planck foundation was represented by country manager for Somalia Jan Schmidt.
The meeting took place in the senate building in Mogadishu.
Later the two jointly addressed the press after signing the contract.
