Somali sisters and foreigners perish in Posh Treats and Pizza House Attack

Storyline:National News

A Syrian national is among the dead in the attack on Posh Treats and Pizza House last night by Alshabab fighters according to Goobjoog News reporter who visited the tragic scene just a moment ago.

The people found in Pizza House restaurant included four sisters who were all shot. Three died while one feigned death and survived the ordeal though injured severely.

The scene of the attack is in total chaos and almost eight blocks have been damaged with some heavily destroyed. Goobjoog Media Group CEO Abshir Ahmad whose residence shares a wall with Posh Treats escaped unhurt but part of his house was destroyed. This is the second time in less than two years Ahmad escaped a bomb attack. On June 25, 2016, Ahmad escaped a bombing in Nasa-Hablod hotel but lost three bodyguards in the attack.

Alshabab often targets high profile areas in the city including hotels and cafes mostly near government offices in order to sink their message that no place is safe.

The death toll is alleged to be 19 people so far.

In this month the government intensified security disarmament operations codenamed “Stabilizing the City” which was hailed as a success move so far until last night attack.
