GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Soldiers from the 231st Battalion of the 23rd Military Police Brigade of the Somali National Army have donated a wheelchair to a young girl with special needs in Mogadishu, responding to her request for assistance with mobility.

The commander of the battalion, Mohamed Abdi Hussein, who is widely known as Koronto, visited the girl at her home and presented the wheelchair on behalf of the soldiers.

Lt. Col. Hussein said the initiative came after the girl’s message reached the unit, prompting soldiers to contribute part of their own salaries to purchase the wheelchair and help improve her daily life.

He noted that members of the armed forces remain committed to supporting Somali communities, particularly vulnerable individuals who need assistance.

The girl expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their support, saying the wheelchair would make it much easier for her to carry out daily activities.

The gesture reflects the Somali National Army’s broader commitment not only to security operations but also to serving and supporting the Somali people.
