Somali Supreme Court Sentences One to Death over Murder, Releases Another

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali Supreme court on Saturday sentenced a man identified as Dahir Ali Osman to death over the murder of Hussein Hassan Molgale who was the commissioner of Mareray village near Afgoye district in lower Shabelle region on March this year.

At the same time, he court also ordered the release of Abdullahi Ali Osman who was arrested in connection of the above murder case according to the persecutors of the court.

Chairperson of the Supreme Court, Liban Ali Yarow while briefing journalists about the court’s verdict said the he agrees with a ruling that had earlier been issued by the First-military rank court.

Dahir on his part admitted to killing the commissioner, citing revenge as the motive after Molgale had reportedly killed his brother.
