Somali youth League day anniversary celebrations are due to take place in Mogasdishu

 

 

 

Somali youth League day anniversary celebrations are underway in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.

The 72th birthday of Somali Youth League day is scheduled to be celebrated in the city where youth groups, women associations, singers and local residents are to come out in large numbers to commemorate this important day “Somali youth day”.

Meanwhile others celebrations are also expected to take place in many parts of the country especially, places far away from the capital city.

This highly arranged ceremony to mark the Somalia’s first political party which has played a key role in the country’s road to independence was founded in 15 May 1943 is also to attended by Somali leaders and expected to deliver speeches concerning patriotism.

Through various activities Somali Youth League brought the community together and taught them what independence is to them.

The influences of the Somali Youth League, which in the 1950s were instrumental in ensuring that Somalia’s struggle for independence has beared sweety fruits ,  today thought the 13 boys who formed the group passed away years back, Somalia optimistically wishes to get and witness the resurrection of SYL ideas and works to rebuild a country whereby people used to say “ My tribe”  and threw the word “my country” into a hole.
