Somalia Agri-Tech Expo 2024 Launched in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal government of Somalia’s Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry Tuesday launched the Somalia Agri-Tech Expo 2024 in Mogadishu.

The expo marks a major step in the country’s National Transformation Plan, fostering expertise and collaboration for resilient agricultural systems.

The function has attracted top government officials led by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, Ministers of the Federal and State level of Agriculture, international partners, farmers’ associations, cooperatives, technology providers, financial institutions, research institutions, and civil society.

During the opening of Somalia Agri-Tech Expo 2024 Prime Minister Barre took a tour of the stalls where local products were displayed.

The Prime Minister called on Somali people to embrace technology so as to enhance the contry’s food security and contribute to the nation’s economic development.

“Delighted to address our Agri-Tech Expo 2024 today, a pivotal step towards our National Transformation Plan goals. Emphasising innovation, expertise & collaboration for sustainable agricultural progress. Let’s harness tech for food security, economic growth & resilient farming,” the Prime Minister said during his speech during the launch of the Expo.
