Somalia Air force celebrates 56th anniversary in Mogadishu
Somalia air force today celebrated their 56th anniversary since their establishment in 1961 in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.
High profile Somali government officials including Somali deputy prime minister, Mohamed Omar Atre Qaalib, Ministers of Defense and Justice, Commander of Somalia air force have attended this ceremony which marked the 56rd anniversary of the Somalia Air Force (SAF).
Deputy premier Mohamed Omar addressing the ceremony has mentioned the effect of the two decade of Somalia’s civil war on the Air Force of Somalia and their recovery efforts for SAF.
He expressed his despair over the upturn efforts of the Air Force of Somalia operations reasoning that there is a lack of willing and competent Somalia youth who are ready to join SAF.
After the downfall of Somali Air force with Said Bare’s regime in 1990s, SAF was re-established in early 2010 by the Somalia’s former transitional government.
