Somalia Allocates More Land to China for Expansion of Embassy Building

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has allocated more land within the Aden Adde International Airport to the Chinese government for the expansion of the embassy building in Mogadishu.

Somalia’s Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Fardowsa Osman Egal who spoke while handing over the land to Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy Chen Wendi said that the step was meant to strengthens historical relationship between the two countries.

The Minister stated that the purpose of the land given to China is to facilitate the expansion of its current embassy in the capital Mogadishu adding that the expansion will enhance service delivery to the Somali people such as as processing visas and trade facilitation.

The Chinese embassy representative said that the allocation will strengthen the cooperation and relation between Somalia and China, and that China will continue to stand by Somalia in its pursuit of peace and prosperity.

China is one of the major governments that support the Federal Government of Somalia through funding development projects and participating in humanitarian activities to assist people affected by various disasters across the country.
