GOOBOOG NEWS | ADDIS ABABA: Officials from Somalia and Ethiopia began a technical review meeting in Addis Ababa on Friday to assess the progress of bilateral agreements signed during a previous ministerial meeting in Mogadishu.

The talks bring together technical teams from both governments, with Somalia’s delegation led by the Director General for East African Social Affairs. The review is focused on key areas of cooperation, including trade, economic integration, and people-to-people engagement.

The meeting marks a follow-up to the inaugural Joint Ministerial Committee session and is seen as a sign of both countries’ commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.

“This process is about ensuring that what we agreed on translates into action,” a Somali official familiar with the discussions told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Both governments have pledged to deepen collaboration as part of broader efforts to promote regional stability and mutual development.
