Somalia and Türkiye Deepen Audit Cooperation with Compliance Training in Ankara

GOOBJOOG NEWS|ANKARA: Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General has partnered with the Turkish Court of Accounts to roll out a specialized training programme on compliance auditing, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public sector oversight.

The workshop, currently underway in Ankara, convenes audit professionals from the Federal Government of Somalia alongside counterparts from Federal Member States, creating a platform for skills development and alignment of audit standards.

Opening the session, Ahmet Tezcan highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration, emphasizing Türkiye’s readiness to support Somalia in building technical expertise and fostering institutional linkages within the auditing sector.

On his part, Somalia’s Deputy Auditor General, Abdijamal Ismail Mohamed, acknowledged the partnership and noted that such capacity-building initiatives are instrumental in enhancing audit effectiveness, improving service delivery, and encouraging knowledge exchange among professionals.

The initiative is part of a broader push to reinforce accountability and transparency across Somalia’s public institutions by equipping auditors at both federal and state levels with the skills required to uphold sound governance practices.
