GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and the Arab League have agreed to expand cooperation in media and cultural development, with a focus on strengthening Arabic language programs and modernising national archives.

Information Minister Daud Aweis Jama met a delegation led by Zayd Al Sabban, head of the League’s Horn of Africa and Sudan Department, in Mogadishu. Aweis said Somalia’s National Media was ready to revive its traditional role in supporting Arabic initiatives, while the Arab League pledged technical and financial support.

The delegation also visited Radio Mogadishu’s archives, where work is under way to digitise historical records.

Officials said the effort will help preserve cultural heritage and improve access for future generations.
