Somalia attend Arab conference and exhibition in Malaysia
The Arab Media Group, in cooperation with the Malaysian Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development and sponsored by the Arab Ambassadors Council in Malaysia, organized the Arab International Conference and Exhibition from 26-28 July, the first of its kind in Malaysia in terms of events, countries including Somalia, companies and individuals. As well as for the first time a ceremony honouring students of bachelor’s, masters and doctorate degrees in Malaysia from all Arab countries.
During the opening ceremony of the conference, a large group of ambassadors and representatives of Arab embassies participated in a Malaysian official presence led by HE Dr. Dato Mohammad Radwan, Minister of Business Development in Malaysia, who delivered a speech stressing that such an event is a special occasion for cultural exchanges between Arab countries and Malaysia, Not to mention the common heritage, customs and culture of Islam. Malaysians also recommended the need to learn the Arabic language to strengthen the strong cultural ties between the Arab world and Malaysia.
“These plots help the Arab countries to promote and offer their products and heritage to Malaysia, in addition to enhancing the good image of the Arab communities living in Malaysia,” said the Kuwaiti Ambassador and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Malaysia Saad Al Assousi.
Minister Mohammad Radwan stresses Malaysia’s interest in promoting cultural and commercial relations with the Arab world. In turn, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia, headed by His Excellency Ambassador Abu Bakr Abdi Osman, was an active participant in the conference in all its activities. On his behalf, the Ambassador delivered on his behalf Mr Mohammed Abu Bakr Abdi, Commercial Attache at the Embassy.
While the participation of the embassy in the cultural sections was led by the cultural attaché of Somalia, Badri Hussein, the most important special pavilion for Somalia within the cultural exhibition.
The participation of a number of pictures, handicrafts and folk food, which reflects the extent of the Somali identity and identity, where visited the pavilion of Somalia a large gathering of participants, notably Minister Mohammad Radwan and a number of officials and media officials and Arab ambassadors in the exhibition to learn about the Somali culture, history and culture.
The cultural attaché was also represented by a representative of the Embassy of Somalia as a guest of honour at the ceremony honouring the winners of the Arab Debates and Talents Competition, as well as the first Arab graduates of its kind in Malaysia.
Among the winners and graduates were a number of Somali students who were also a model for representing their country in all fields with their creativity and excellence Somalia in all cultural events.
