Somalia Backs Yemen’s Unity, Voices Support for Saudi-Led Peace Efforts

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has reaffirmed its strong support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Yemen, rejecting any actions that undermine the country’s constitutional legitimacy or national institutions.

In a statement, the Federal Government said it stood firmly with Yemen’s internationally recognised government and backed Yemeni-led political solutions aimed at restoring security, stability and development.

Somalia praised Saudi Arabia’s role in supporting Yemen’s security and regional stability, citing Riyadh’s political, diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to end the conflict and advance a comprehensive peace process in line with regional and international frameworks.

The statement also commended the Saudi-led coalition for its efforts to protect Yemen’s state institutions and preserve its territorial integrity, describing those actions as vital to regional security and international legitimacy.

Somalia further expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, rejecting threats to the kingdom’s security, international maritime navigation or the stability of the wider region.

The government said Yemen’s stability remains essential to the security of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa, urging the international community to continue supporting efforts toward a lasting political settlement.
