Somalia calls for implementation of progressive human rights policies
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BEIJING: Federal Government of Somalia’s Ambassador to China Awale Ali Kullane has called on the global community to advance progressive global human rights policies.
Speaking at the “World Human Rights Governance Forum” in Beijing, China the ambassador also underscored the need to foster collaboration, cooperation, and progress to effectively address the challenges confronting human rights in the modern era.
The forum centered on the strengthening of international cooperation in human rights and enhancing the governance of the United Nations Human Rights Council as a way of effectively tackling the emerging challenges posed by the digital age.
The participation of the Somali Ambassador at the forum underscores the country’s commitment to actively engage in global human rights discourse and contribute to the collective pursuit of a just and equitable world.
The forum brings together diplomats, government officials, experts and scholars from across the globe to engage in human rights issues affecting various countries worldwide and other issues of global importance.
The Forum which is jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China International Development Cooperation Agency also acts as an exceptional platform for meaningful exchanges and constructive deliberations on pertinent human rights matters.
According to the organizers one of the key highlights of the event is the adoption of “The Vienna Declaration,” which serves to reaffirm the collective commitment to global human rights governance.
The declaration also underscores the principles of equality, cooperation, and development as essential pillars in promoting and safeguarding human rights worldwide.
