Somalia committed to promoting education sector, PM Barre says
GOOBJOOG NEWS | DAR-ES-SALAM: Federal Government of Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamze Abdi Barre has said the government is committed to enhancing education as a way of fast-tracking development in the country.
Speaking during the African Human Capital Heads of State Summit in Dar-es-Salam Tanzania, the Prime Minister said that despite the numerous challenges facing the country, the government has invested heavily in education, recruiting 3000 new teachers in a bid to improve the quality of education in the country.
The African Human Capital Heads of State Summit brings together leaders from across the continent to discuss strategies for improving education and human development.
The summit provides a platform for sharing best practices and exploring new approaches to addressing the challenges facing education in Africa.
Accompanying the Prime Minister at the summit were top government dignitaries, including the Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, the Minister of Health and Human Services, Dr. Ali Haji Adan, and the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim.
