Somalia Condemns Attacks on Qatar, Calls for Diplomacy at UN

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NEW YORK: Somalia has strongly condemned attacks directed against Qatar, warning that undermining a mediator threatens broader global peace efforts.
“Targeting a mediator is an attack on peace itself,” Somalia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abukar Osman, said in a statement issued by the Somali Mission in New York.
He stressed that diplomacy must remain the central path for resolving disputes and urged all parties to exercise restraint.
The statement reaffirms Somalia’s solidarity with Qatar and highlights Mogadishu’s unwavering commitment to international law, dialogue, and peaceful conflict resolution. Somali officials noted that the position aligns with the country’s broader foreign policy principle of mutual respect, cooperation, and non-aggression.
By voicing support for Qatar at the UN, Somalia positions itself as a consistent advocate for stability in international relations and a defender of mediation as a cornerstone of conflict resolution.
