GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has expressed solidarity with Pakistan following a deadly explosion during Friday prayers near an Imam Bargah mosque on the outskirts of Islamabad that killed at least 31 people and wounded 169 others.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the blast, which struck the Tarlai area of Shehzad Town, was a grave attack on civilians and a place of worship.
“Somalia extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured,” the ministry said.
The Somali government strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed its opposition to all forms of violence and extremism, particularly acts targeting civilians and religious sites.
