GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somalia has condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting several Arab countries, calling them serious violations of sovereignty and international law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement the strikes constituted grave and blatant breaches of the sovereignty of the affected states. It did not specify the locations of the attacks but referred broadly to Arab nations described as “sisterly countries.”

Somalia expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman. The ministry affirmed its support for any measures these countries may take in their legitimate right to self-defense, safeguarding their security, protecting their populations and preserving the integrity of their territories.

The statement further reiterated Somalia’s firm rejection of resorting to force and renewed its call for dialogue, diplomatic engagement and peaceful solutions to regional disputes. Mogadishu stressed the importance of collective international efforts to ensure regional security and stability and to uphold international peace.

The declaration comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, as regional actors respond to escalating hostilities and diplomatic fallout.
