Somalia Congratulates China on 76th National Day, Vows Closer Ties

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has congratulated China as Beijing marked the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening ties with the Asian power.

In a statement, Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali praised China’s “remarkable progress” over the past seven decades and described Somalia’s relationship with Beijing as rooted in mutual respect and solidarity.

“Somalia cherishes its long-standing friendship with China, anchored in shared aspirations and guided by cooperation and understanding,” Ali said.

The minister added that Mogadishu was committed to expanding cooperation with Beijing through joint projects and deeper partnerships in peace, development and prosperity.

China celebrates its National Day annually on Oct. 1, commemorating the founding of the People’s Republic in 1949.
