Aden Adde Airport to Remain Open as SCAA Rejects Closure Claims

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Operations at Somalia’s Aden Adde International Airport are continuing normally, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) said Monday, dismissing reports that the country’s main international airport would be closed in the coming days.

In a public notice dated Oct. 5, 2026, the authority said all scheduled flights were operating according to established timetables and that there had been no disruption to airport operations.

The SCAA described reports about an impending closure as unfounded, saying they had not been issued by any official source.

The authority urged the public to rely on official communications from the SCAA for information about flight schedules and airport operations, warning against relying on unverified reports.

The clarification comes as Aden Adde remains a key hub for international travel to and from Somalia, handling regular passenger and other aviation services connecting Mogadishu with regional and international destinations.

The SCAA said it would continue to provide official updates concerning aviation operations and advised passengers to verify flight information through authorised channels before travelling.
