Somalia, Djibouti Deepen Cooperation on Religious Affairs and Endowments
GOOBJOOG NEWS | DJIBOUTI: A five-day consultative workshop between Somalia and Djibouti on strengthening cooperation in religious affairs and endowment management concluded on Thursday in Djibouti City.
The meetings brought together officials from Somalia’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Djibouti’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, Culture, and Endowments to exchange expertise on waqf (endowments) administration and Zakat (alms) collection and registration.
Somalia’s delegation, led by Minister Sheikh Mukhtar Robow, joined Djibouti’s Minister of Religious Affairs Mumin Hassan Barre in visits to several institutions on the final day, including the Al Wasatiya Institute, a regional center dedicated to promoting peace and countering extremist ideologies.
Ibrahim Adan Ibrahim Nadara, Director General of Somalia’s Endowments Ministry, thanked the Djiboutian government for its hospitality, noting that the collaboration aligns with Somalia’s efforts to foster peace and moderation through religious education.
