GOOBJOOG NEWS | DJIBOUTI: Somalia’s parliamentary Speaker, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur (Jama) has arrived in Djibouti for a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two neighbouring countries and expanding cooperation between their legislatures.
Nur was received at Djibouti’s international airport by his counterpart, National Assembly Speaker Dileita Mohamed Dileita, alongside members of the Djiboutian parliament.
The visit follows an invitation from Dileita and is expected to focus on strengthening parliamentary relations, exchanging legislative experience and advancing shared interests between the two countries.
Nur is accompanied by a delegation comprising members of Somalia’s House of the People, including its parliamentary usher, Mohamed Abdullahi Hassan (Nuux), and the Secretary-General of the House.
Somalia and Djibouti maintain longstanding political, diplomatic and security ties, underpinned by close geographical, cultural and historical links. Djibouti has also played a role in regional diplomatic efforts involving Somalia and wider Horn of Africa affairs.
Both countries have continued to engage on regional stability, security and cooperation, with parliamentary diplomacy providing another channel for strengthening bilateral relations.
