Somalia, Djibouti Sign Political Consultation Deal To Boost Ties

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and Djibouti have signed an agreement on political consultations, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation on security and regional stability.
Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali met his Djiboutian counterpart, Abdulqadir Hussein Omar, in Mogadishu where the two discussed ways to expand collaboration and coordinate positions on regional and international issues.
The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for regular dialogue between the two neighbours, both of which are key players in efforts to stabilise the Horn of Africa.
Officials said the deal builds on historic cultural and political ties between Somalia and Djibouti, underscoring a commitment to work more closely on peace, development and diplomatic initiatives.
