Somalia, Egypt Agree To Deepen Coordination on Horn of Africa Security
GOOBJOOG NEWS | CAIRO: Somalia and Egypt have agreed to strengthen diplomatic and security coordination as part of efforts to promote stability in the Horn of Africa, officials said after talks in Cairo.
Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Ali met his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty for high-level consultations focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and aligning positions on key regional developments.
During the meeting, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Somalia’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, underscoring Cairo’s position on respect for national borders amid heightened regional tensions.
The two ministers reviewed the security situation in the Horn of Africa and agreed to intensify joint efforts aimed at supporting peace and addressing shared political and security challenges.
Officials said both sides committed to maintaining close diplomatic coordination, signalling a continued partnership between Mogadishu and Cairo on regional stability and strategic cooperation.
