GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: A senior delegation from the Independent Electoral and National Boundaries Commission (IENBC) has arrived in Baidoa as part of nationwide efforts to assess electoral preparedness and strengthen coordination ahead of upcoming democratic processes.

The delegation, led by IENBC Commissioner for Communications Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan, includes Commissioner Yusuf Abdukadir Mohamed and the commission’s secretary, Hussein Nunow Ali. Baidoa is the capital of Bay region and the administrative seat of South West State.

The visit is part of an inspection and consultation mission to review electoral activities on the ground and evaluate the readiness of institutions and stakeholders responsible for implementing agreed electoral frameworks.

During the visit, the commission is expected to hold talks with senior South West State officials, starting with President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, widely known as Laftagareen. Discussions will focus on accelerating electoral preparations, strengthening coordination and addressing logistical and technical requirements.

The IENBC said the consultations reflect its commitment to inclusive engagement with federal member states and to delivering a credible, transparent and Somali-owned electoral process across the country.
