Somalia Electoral Commission Urges Matabaan Residents to Register As Voter Roll Opens

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged residents of Matabaan District to register as voters after the launch of a voter registration exercise in the area.

In a statement, the commission called on eligible citizens to enroll and collect voter registration certificates, which will allow them to receive official voting cards on Election Day.

“Citizens living in Matabaan district should register and obtain their voter registration certificate in order to receive their official voting card,” the commission said.

Officials said the registration drive is part of wider national efforts to strengthen democratic participation and ensure credible electoral processes in Somalia.

The commission also encouraged residents to visit designated registration centres and verify the accuracy of their personal information before the registration period ends.
