Somalia Executes Three Al-Shabaab Members for Deadly Attacks

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia executed three convicted Al-Shabaab members on Thursday, underscoring the government’s intensified campaign to dismantle the Islamist militant group.

Qudama Hamza Yusuf, Abdi Hassan Roble and Ibrahim Omar Shama’un were shot by firing squad in Mogadishu following military court convictions for deadly bombings and targeted killings in the capital and Lower Shabelle.

The executions mark the second such action in days, bringing the number of people put to death this month over links to al-Shabaab to six. Authorities say the swift sentences reflect a zero-tolerance policy towards militants and collaborators.

The government, supported by local militias and foreign partners, has pledged to escalate military operations and judicial measures until the group is defeated and Somalia achieves lasting stability.
