Somalia Eyes Port Investment at Russia Logistics Forum
GOOBJOOG NEWS | ST PETERSBURG: Somalia is seeking to attract investment and strengthen partnerships to modernize its port infrastructure as it participates in a major international logistics forum in Russia.
A delegation led by Americo of the Mogadishu Port Authority is attending the International Transport and Logistics Forum, taking place from April 1 to 3 in St Petersburg.
The forum brings together global policymakers and industry leaders to discuss transport systems, supply chains, and logistics development.
Somalia’s participation is focused on attracting investment, enhancing port management, and improving operational efficiency at Mogadishu Port.
The delegation is expected to hold bilateral meetings and technical discussions aimed at boosting connectivity and aligning Somalia’s port operations with international standards.
Authorities say outcomes from the forum will support ongoing reforms to upgrade port services and strengthen Somalia’s position in regional and global trade networks.
