Those behind Almaas’ killing must face the law-Somali govt’
Somali government has vowed to fully investigate and prosecute those behind the killing of peace activist Almaas Elman Wednesday in Mogadishu.
In a statement Thursday, the government condemned the murder of the peace activist noting those behind her killing will be brought to book. Almaas died following a gunshot attack while heading to the airport from the airforce hangar in Mogadishu.
The circumstances surrounding her killing remain unclear. National Security Advisor Abdisaid Ali also affirmed the government’s resolve noting the perpetrators will face justice.
“The killing of Almaas will be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators who are responsible and allowed it to happen, must be brought to justice. Our citizens deserve protection. Almaas’s killing must never be repeated in our society,” Ali said in a tweet.
