Somalia Holds Trade Forum to Raise Export Quality, Import Standards

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Ministry of Commerce on Monday opened the Second National Quality Infrastructure Forum in Mogadishu, a two-day meeting aimed at strengthening exports and tightening import standards.

Commerce Minister Mahmud Ahmed Aden said the initiative would help Somalia expand its participation in regional and global trade by ensuring safe, high-quality goods in domestic and export markets.

The forum brought together policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners and regulators, who discussed certification systems and the role of quality standards in unlocking new export opportunities for Somali businesses.
