GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A new training program aimed at boosting the capacity of Somalia’s public servants has been launched in Mogadishu, as part of a partnership between the Somali National University (SNU) and Italy’s University of Palermo.

The eight-month program will train staff from Somalia’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Justice, equipping them with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to improve service delivery in healthcare and the justice system.

Officials said the initiative combines classroom instruction, real-world case projects, and mentorship by academic and professional experts to address skills gaps in critical government institutions.

“This program reflects Somalia’s commitment to building a more efficient, accountable, and responsive public sector,” organizers said during the launch.

The initiative underscores growing collaboration between Somali institutions and international partners in rebuilding the country’s administrative capacity after decades of conflict.
