Somalia launches first mobile network interconnectivity

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre has launched mobile interconnectivity in Somalia which enables subscribers to call each other through different telephone networks in the country.
The Prime Minister noted that the merger between the country’s telecommunication companies will create healthy competition which will benefit the subscribers.
He emphasized the importance of paying taxes saying this will spur development in the country and challenged telecommunication companies to play their role in enhancing security in the country.
He thanked the National Telecommunications Authority for playing a pivotal role in implementing this service.
