GOOBJOOG NEWS | WANLAWYEN: Somalia’s electoral commission has launched a voter registration awareness campaign in Wanlaweyn district, part of efforts to prepare for the country’s first “one person, one vote” election.

The campaign, attended by community members and local officials, aims to encourage residents to register and take part in the upcoming polls.

Officials from the National Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission said broad participation was essential for a credible and democratic process.

The initiative is among several nationwide drives to educate citizens on the registration process and build trust in the electoral system, the commission said.

Somalia has been working toward universal suffrage as part of its broader push for political stability and inclusive governance after decades of conflict and instability.
