Somalia: Ministry of Agriculture receive complains from Lower Shabelle farmers
The ministry of agriculture of federal government of Somalia stated that it has received complain from the farmers of Lower Shabelle region that government forces in the region are regularly harm farmers especially during harvesting season.
The committee of Lower Shabelle farmers complain of regular harassment from federal government forces in that region especially farmland areas that prevented the farmers to cultivate their farms.
The director of the ministry of agriculture Hussien Muse Malise told GoobjoogFM that farmers showed great concern about armed militia that normally loot and rob their properties and set up road blocks in the region.
Mr. Hussein underlined that his department presented the alarm to the ministries for defense and national security to address the problems quickly.
Lower shabelle region is one of the areas with good agricultural land which produces large scale food and vegetable but failing due to Drought and decades of war that declined Somali people to put forward with good production .
