GOOBJOOG NEWS | ULAANBAATAR: Somalia and Mongolia are looking to deepen their decades-long partnership, as both nations reaffirm a shared commitment to peace, development, and multilateral cooperation.

Diplomatic ties between Somalia and Mongolia were officially established in 1971, rooted in mutual respect and a joint vision for a more stable and prosperous world.

“Mongolia’s rich diplomatic tradition and Somalia’s resilience offer a strong foundation to further expand cooperation,” said Somalia’s Ambassador to Mongolia, Hodan Osman Abdi. “We see opportunities to broaden our engagement in areas such as trade, education, and cultural exchange.”

The two nations have historically stood side by side on critical international issues, advocating for peace, justice, and stronger multilateral institutions.

Mongolia’s active role in UN peacekeeping missions mirrors Somalia’s aspirations for stability and international collaboration, making the partnership particularly relevant amid shifting global dynamics.

Looking ahead, officials from both countries expressed optimism about building new bridges in bilateral and multilateral arenas, reinforcing a relationship that has weathered global changes over half a century.
