Somalia Moves to Strengthen Security and Justice Coordination
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has taken a step to improve how its security and justice institutions work together, concluding a three-day training programme aimed at aligning planning and decision-making across government.
The training brought officials from the Ministries of Defence, Internal Security, and Justice and Constitutional Affairs to work on shared planning tools and accountability measures.
Delivered under the SJGAP project, the programme is intended to reduce overlap, speed up decision-making and ensure government actions in security and justice are implemented more effectively.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Abdifatah Abdulkadir Farah, who closed the session, said the goal is to translate coordination into results felt by citizens, especially in regions where service delivery and state presence remain weak.
“Strengthened cooperation among our institutions means faster responses, clearer responsibilities, and better outcomes for our people,” he said.
The initiative aligns with the National Transformation Plan and the Dan-Qaran government’s wider reforms, which aim to build a more efficient state capable of stabilising newly recovered areas and improving public trust in government.
