Somalia Offers Condolences Over Death of Libya’s Army Chief
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has offered its condolences to Libya following the death of the country’s army chief of staff, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, along with four senior officers and three crew members, in an incident described as a major loss for Libya.
In a statement, the Somali government expressed solidarity with Libya’s Government of National Unity and the families of those killed, reaffirming its support for Libya during a period of mourning.
“Somalia stands in solidarity with the Libyan Government of National Unity and the families of the deceased, sharing in their profound grief,” the statement said.
Somalia also offered prayers for the dead, calling for strength and patience for their families and the Libyan people.
The deaths have drawn condolences from across the region and come as Libya continues efforts to stabilise its security institutions after years of conflict. Somali officials said the message underscored enduring ties between the two countries and a commitment to mutual support in times of crisis.
